Yes… you read that correctly! Throughout the years, I’ve come across so many makeup from drugstores to high-end brands, and I am surprised at how good drugstore products actually are – definitely you do not need to spend $$$ on good makeup. I’ve found amazing makeup for under $20, but I wanted to challenge myself and list out the best makeup that’s under $5! It’s a bit of a stretch, but read below some of my fav, cheap makeup and let me know which ones you’ve tried!

1. e.l.f. Cosmetics | Instant Lift Brow Pencil (~$3)

e.l.f. Cosmetics “Instant Lift Brow Pencil” in “Neutral Brown” ($2.79)

I am not even kidding, this is probably the best, cheapest eyebrow pencil I have come by. The e.l.f. Cosmetics “Instant Lift Brow Pencil” in “Neutral Brown” ($2.97) is the one I use, and I love it! It works great with a creamy eyebrow pencil and the colour is a perfect match, plus the additional spoolie is also a great bonus. I did wish the pencil tip was more smaller and “micro” (to mimic better eyebrow hairs), but other than that – it’s a great product!

2. Essence Cosmetics | Make Me Brow ($3.99)

Essence “Make me Brow Mascara Gel” ($3.99)

There have been many reviews claiming that Essence Cosmetic’s “Make me Brow” Eyebrow Mascara Gel ($3.99) is a dupe for Benefit Cosmetic’s “Gimme Brow+” product ($32) – with similar wand application and good eyebrow shades. I have not yet tried this Essence product, but Benefit Cosmetic’s “Gimmie Brow+” gel is one of my eyebrow favs, so it’s nice to hear there is a way cheaper dupe on the market. (Tip: use a clear mascara for eyebrow gel. I’ve used Maybelline’s “Great Lash Clear Mascara” ($4.99) and it works just as good as branded eyebrow gels, keeping my brows in place and tamed)

3. Maybelline | Great Lash Washable Mascara ($4.99)

Maybelline “Great Lash Washable Mascara” in “Very Black” ($4.99)

A staple in every makeup bag – mascara! I actually love drugstore mascaras, as I feel like there isn’t much of a different between drugstore vs. high-end mascaras that I’ve tried in the past. This Maybelline “Great Lash Washable Mascara” in “Very Black” ($4.99) is still a mascara I use till this day! It’s great – gets the job done; making my lashes look wispy and long. Another cheap mascara I love is Essence Cosmetic’s “Lash Princess False Lash Mascara” ($4.99) – works great and seriously is worth the price.

4. Wet n’ Wild | Flat Top Brush (~$3)

Wet n’ Wild “Flat Top Brush” ($2.49)

Wet n’ Wild Cosmetics is such an underrated affordable, drugstore brand! They’ve been stepping it up in the cosmetics game recently with tons of makeup favs from beauty gurus and makeup lovers. From Wet n’ Wild, I love the makeup brushes! They’re all super soft and apply your makeup so smooth, like the “Flat Top Brush” for only $2.49 on Amazon. I usually get my Wet n’ Wild brushes on Amazon (they have almost all of them avaliable) and I even found some Wet n’ Wild brushes at Dollar Tree (in Canada) – for only $1 each!

Jenuinely,

Hope this post helps you check out some new makeup brands and products that won’t break the budget! Let us know some of your makeup favs under $5 below.
